Desfile: Noche de Normas
This past Friday our Young Women's group put on an activity for their yearly standards night.. The girls did a fashion show to model modest fashions in different styles. Here is Dave and the boys waiting for the event to start. It was sceduled for 7:00 but didn't start 'till 8:00. It took the girls a little longer then they expected to get their fashion show makovers.
This is the make-up table. All the girls received head to toe beautification. The girls with wavy hair got straight hair and the girls with straight hair had it curled.
The first style modeled was a sports theme. The girls really did well on their model walking. They had it all down and had practiced how they were going to walk and pose.

Here is Emily on the left modeling her sports attire. The music playing during this song was Lady Ga Ga's "Alejandro
Another of the styles the girls modeled was Sunday dress. Here is Emily and Alejandra modeling their best Sunday attire. During the school ourfits, which I didn't get a picture of, they were playing "Saved By the Bell". The kids here all go to private schools and were a typical paid skirt with a sweater and knee high sock.
They even made the moms get in on the action. We joined the girls in modeling our Sunday clothes. OK, so yes, it was very embarrassing.
The girls in our new ward have been so great at helping Emily to feel welcome in Chile. They have been so cute in teaching Emily new Spanish words while at the same time Emily has been teaching them new phrases in English.
