Close Game!

Little E asked me if I would play Sorry with him today.  I won the first game, so of course there had to be a rematch.  On the second game, he won by ONE card.  That is the closest game of Sorry I have ever seen!  When he won, he did a run to the couch with a flip upsidedown, yelling wo! wo! while kicking his legs in the air.  These are the moments that I love!

Birthday Girl

It's birthday #2 here at our house.  This birthday girl wore that princess crown to school all day.  She said she sure got a lot of attention because of it.  I have to laugh about that.  The lunch attendant at school had to stop her in line because the cafeteria was getting too crowded.  She said, "So sorry to have to detain you, your highness."  I don't think anyone but this girl could pull off wearing a crown to school.

Little brothers are curious about what is inside wrapped boxes!

Grandma's card was a sweet surprise!  Mmmm, I trip to shop for jewelery might be in order.

Our birthday girl loves to read.  She can gobble down hundreds of pages in a weekend when she has a good book.  Grandma got her the fourth book in the Percy Jackson series she has been loving lately.

Yummy cake...whipped cream frosting, strawberry jello and real strawberries mixed in the white cake mix with a real strawberry butter cream filling.  The brothers were willing to eat the cake even though it was so PINK!

April is Birthday Month

To celebrate this big day, we drove to the snow and had a good old fashioned snow ball fight.  This is in honor of our Utah friends and family who are enjoying April snow in thier own front yards.

Grandma came through with the book that A wanted from the book fair and Dad surprised them all with the sequel to thier favorite vidoe game Lego Star Wars.

Happy Birthday Buddy!

BJ is Famous

Occasionally David will be asked by the local news to cover a story about gardening and insects.  Recently he wrote an article about the home gardener.  He included a picture of BJ collecting snails in the yard.  BJ was thoroughly embarrassed to be featured in the paper.

Disney has a program this year called "Give a Day Get a Day".  My sister got involved in her community in Utah.  I wanted to get involved too.  I found that Project Linus in our area was joining with Disney.  Their mission statement is "Project Linus is comprised of hundreds of local chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States. Each volunteer and local chapter all work together to help us achieve our mission statement, which states:

First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.

Together we have distributed over three million blankets to children in need since our inception in 1995."

The kids had fun helping me tie fleece bankets.  Daddy even got in on the action.  For our efforts, Disney has given us all a ticket to Disneyland this year.  Yeah!
