Steam rollers and Scrapbooks

Our street has been under construction for the past couple of weeks.  When they finally came in to pave the roads, the kids set up thier own little  grand stand to watch the big machines go by.  A funny side note, later when we took the bikes out to be the first ones on the new road, we were riding past the steam roller and the guy driving it was actually texting while driving.  Can you believe that!  Crazy!

Now that we have the late church, we need to come up with productive things to do for the kids before we need to get ready for church.  Today I thought it was great when the boys all asked if they could look at the scrapbooks from when they were babies.  It is nice to see all my hard work enjoyed.

Valentine

I know we are past Valentine's Day, but I wanted to post this picture.  My friend gave me a little bag of conversation hearts.  It was so fun to get a Valentine.  When you are the mom, you do more of the arranging and giving during holidays.  Sometimes the holidays feel more like a chore than a holiday.  It was nice for me to get something fun too.  My sweetheart gave me a flower corsage on Valentines Day.  I wore it in my hair to church. (Forgot to get a picture of it)  I made him Oreo Truffles.  These are super yuumy you guys!  My sister told me how to make them.

1. Crush a bag of oreo cookies in a food processor (filling and all)
2. Mix with one 8 oz. package of softened cream cheese.
3. Refrigerate until firm.
4. Melt 2 small bags of chocolate chips.
5.  Roll the Oreo mixture into tsp-Tbsp size balls.
6.  Dip balls into the melted chocolate and place on a wax paper lined cookie sheet.
7.  Cool completely in the refrigerator and transfer to an airtight container.

Enjoy!  This is one of the many treats that I loose absolutely all self control over.

I Looked Out the Window...

This is Baltimore, Maryland.  The above photo was provided courtesy of Facebook fan Belinda: "A picture is worth a thousands words."  (Weather Channel).
This is the park where we wait to pick up the kids from school.  The photo was taken today 2/11/10.  We've got a different kind of white on our trees.  I still get a little taken a back when the flowers start pushing in February.

Sisters

I have lived away from my immediate family since I have been married. Today I am missing my sisters. I am blessed to have two great younger sisters. The great thing about siblings is that they can turn into great friends in adulthood. We had so much fun together growing up. We played out in the yard from sun up to sun down it seemed some days. When we were inside, we made up all sorts of games or dressed up our littlest sister or sat in a line a did eachother's hair. The unlucky one at the end of the line ended up brushing the cat. I want to let my sisters know how much I love them.
