Our next stop on our way to Pisco Elqui was to the small town of Horcon which has a great feria artesenal. As we drove in, this father/daughter horseback team was on their way into town as well.
The thatched roofs are just beautiful to me. This feria is tucked down in the valley near the river and it is so quaint.
This feria was so colorful. I don't know if these woven pieces were for sale or were just decoration, but they were impressive.
This one was fun to play peek-a-boo with.

This is a mud oven or horno de barro. It is a common form of cooking in the country and does a fabulous job.
These wind chimes are made from all sorts of natural materials like seed pods and dried bark. This one has to be over seven feet long.
They also had this play area for the kids. I love how it is made from branches. How resourceful!
Emily used some of her hard-earned babysitting money to buy herself a trenza (braid) rope. It is popular for the girls here to weave these into their hair.
Like I said in the beggining of this page, this feria is nestled down by the river. They have blocked the river with rocks to create little swimming pools. There were quite a few people swimming here this day. Too bad we weren't prepared with our swim suits.
We still haven't made it to Pisco Elqui yet, but we sure are having some fun along the way.
