The zoo in Mendoza, Argentina was surprisingly diverse. This macaw greeted us at the gate. What a nice welcome.
A few minutes after we entered the zoo we paused to celebrate a special moment in 2011. The moment we took this picture it was 11-11-11 at 11:11:11. Andrew had been waiting for this day for a long time.
These sheep were very strange. Each one had from 1 to 5 horns. The ones with 5 horns were very interesting. The more horns a sheep had was the bigger chance that the horns would be sticking out in odd directions.
These are guanacos. They are found in the wild in Chile.
These crazy howler monkeys made the strangest barking noises. Whenever someone came to look at them, they would bark and bark.
We discovered that there were monkeys that roamed the zoo outside of cages.
They scampered among the trees and found ways to hide in the roofs of the buildings.
When we got to this part of the zoo we told Evan that we weren't allowed to give him any more food. He asked why and we showed him this sign that says "Avoid Accodents: Don't Feed the Wild Monkeys".
When BJ saw this ape, he said it reminded him of his Grandpa Bill. What do you think? Do you see a resemblance?
