We still had so much to explore in this beautiful area in Chile. There are so many amazing lakesin this region.
Watch out for cows crossing the road.
With all the cows here, I wonder why they are not selling fresh milk.
Today we visited the town of Pucon. It is a beautiful tourist town opposite Villarrica on lago Villarrica. It reminded us of Mammoth, California. We saw this lady selling apples out of the back of her truck. They were the most delicious, crispy, sweet apples we had ever tasted.
Later we went out to dinner. BJ, of course, ordered cheese empanadas.
Dave had thinly slices beef topped with tomatoes and string beans.
One of the nice features of Pucon is that from the downtown, you can usually get a good view of Villarrica Volcano.
It was so strange to see the signs all over town posted in case of a volcanic eruption.
BJ poses with a totem in the park
We headed down to the lake to watch the sun go down. This beach has an amazing black lava shore.
Another great day in southern Chile.
