On our way down south we noticed some smoke coming from the roadside. With a closer inspections we could see that the smoke was coming from kilns that were built to bake bricks.
The bricks are molded. (They weren't molding bricks this day.) Then they are left in the sun to dry.
The bricks are stacked and then the walls of the oven are built around the stacked bricks.
At the bottom of the kiln are holes were the wood is placed.
Here is a closer look at the wood in the kiln.
This place had also made roof tiles.
As we drove along, we saw many of these brick making sites. It was very interesting to see how things were done.
