Bill and Terrie in Valparaiso

While Dave was doing an agricultural tour and teaching at the University Bill and Terrie decided to explore the area around Valparaiso and Vina del Mar.  First, though they had to do some shopping.
Bill and Terrie went to Lider and parked underground.  From there you have to travel up to the main level to go to the store.  Terrie thought it was funny that they had moving walkways for both people and shopping carts.  She thought they were so funny that she asked Bill to take her picture on the moving shopping cart ramp.  Unfortunately, however, Bill isn't super tech-savey and managed to take a great picture of the ramp while completely cutting off Terrie's head.  Terrie didn't like how the picture turned out so she went all the way back down and did a full loop back up again so he could take another picture.  This time he did better not to cut off her head, but didn't get a very good picture of the moving ramp (that of course was the purpose of the picture).

It was funny listening to Bill and Terrie squabble back and forth about how Bill couldn't take a decent picture (Terrie) and of why they were doing loops on shopping cart ramps (Bill).  Dave decided to fix everyting by merging the two photos.  As you can now see, Bill has now taken a good picture that shows both the ramp and Terrie (with her head) so that she can remember the funny shopping cart ramps at the supermarket.

Bill stopped to take a picture of this Coke machine.  He though it was funny to see a soda maching where a coke cost $500.

Bill and Terrie drove down the coastline to Vina del Mar and Valparaiso.  Along the way they took pictures of some of the cool statues and buildings that they saw.

Just south of Concon Bill and Terrie decided to climb up some enormous sand dunes near the beach.

Terrie got really brave, found some cardboard, and did her best attempt to slide down the dune.

The coastline is really steep in many of the areas around Valparaiso.  This complex of condiminiums actually had trolly-like cars that go up and down the hill to take people from the parking area up to the different levels of homes up on the hill.
At the end of the day Bill and Terrie came back to the hotel and watched the BBC international news until Dave got back from teaching at the University.
