On our drive to Copiapo we encountered a group of wild donkeys that were crossing the road in front of our car. In the past donkeys were used as part of the enormous mining industry in Chile. Now the donkeys have been let loose and thousands of them live in the wild.
BJ was so cute on the drive. Every time that Dave got out of the car to take a picture of the flowers, BJ was right behind him ready to explore.
We found this cool park made out of large pieces of driftwood and decided to stop for lunch.
Our scenic drive led us to this beautiful private beach. We found this "jaiba" washed up on the beach. I have never seen a purple crab before. We has the chance to taste one of these recently inside an empanada. Tasty!
It was nice to be able to enjoy a little sun, sand and warmth. It has been so cold and foggy in La Serena. This trip provided some much needed sun therapy.
Dave wrote a little love note to me in the sand. How sweet!
Our boys just can't resist climbing a good hill when they see one. This one was even more fun bacause it was made of sand.
Our climbers at the top.
Perhaps the only thing better than climbing up a big sand dune is rolling down.
